Here we are again , in September facing a different regime ,back to school. Our summer of freedom is over sadly and the new shoes and uniform have been bought training us to be eager beavers for studying again ! Some of us will be entering a serious year where the 11 plus or GCSEs dominate and some will be able to relax a little more with a year or so to go before that all important day looms. Unfortunately it comes quicker than we think so every year from year 4 is crucial in preparing for the 11 plus exam especially if you are aiming for grammar school. The same applies to year 9 pupils preparing for the Gcse. Reading for both is crucial as is most probably a tutor. A good tutor encourages growth and structures your life so you can cope with the preparation involved. They help create that balance between testing and learning. Without a good tutor I find children are tested far too much and get used to guessing answers. This is not proper preparation nor does it make learning exciting. Online learning is becoming more valuable as you can see your tutor via the comfort of your own home and not have to fight through the traffic.
