HOW TO REVISE FOR GCSEs

-Plan a Timetable
Setting out your GCSE subjects, creates topic areas for each subject.
By doing and scheduling what you need to fit into your time between now and the start of the exams. This method will give you a great overview of each subject, what it contains and how long it will take to cover. Remember that when you plan your revision timetable, include time not only to revise for each topic but also to test your knowledge in various ways; such as by completing past GCSE exam papers.
Be realistic with your timetable; don’t cram everything into the last few weeks, as it will not only be unachievable but also unproductive. It just creates stress.

-Know Your Learning Style
The majority of people use a blend of styles.
Their are seven acknowledged learning styles:

-Know Your Limits
Ultimately, we are all human beings with strengths and weaknesses, and our daily and weekly schedules are not always controllable. Knowing how much time you have for revision and how much revision you can do each day or each week is critical. Plan to rest in 'free time'. Be sure to balance your life with time out and about, seeing friends and enjoying your free time so when it comes to revision, you will feel rested and energised.

-Memory & Recall
Recall, is to revise through questioning and testing yourself, rather than trying to learn information through passive reading. There are quite a few ways to incorporate active recall into your revision: flashcards, mnemonics, mind maps, et similar. When you sit down to revise, try testing your knowledge first to see what you remember, rather than revising and then testing yourself at the end of your revision session. It's a more effective method as it emulates what you actually go through in an exam setting.

-On-line information
Use online resources; use the most accessible platforms and not just your notes.
Not only does this make things more interesting, but it also allows you to discover different methods to relate to. Each of us has a different way of learning important information/data.
