Let's look at Primary SATs...

With a week to go until Primary SATs I wanted to share with you some practical advice to help prepare your child for these tests.

Try to manage and limit the amount of time your child spends on revision and follow the 'little and often' rule which will allow your child time out as well as avoid them getting overwrought or worried about the tests.

  1. Try to have fun while learning and use everyday life situations to extend understanding such as doing fractions and percentages when out shopping.
  2. Set specific times and lengths of time for revision and precatice.
  3. Make sure your child eats healthily.
  4. Vary the topic studies each day to avoid overload.
  5. Focus on weaker areas and subjects.

KS1 SATs are assessed internally by teachers within the school while KS2 SATs are assessed externally. The results are reported as a scaled score and the national standard is represented by the number 100.

There are the important dates for you to remember:

So I wish everyone all the best with their SATs and remember to keep smiling!
