The MEG & MOG stories, written by Helen Nicoll and illustrated by Jan Pienkowski, have become classics, thanks to exuberant illustrations and crazy storylines. They follow the antics of Meg, the witch whose spells usually end in disaster, and Mog, her long-suffering cat. As an educator, I love using these books with my younger pupils; exploring colours, sounds and shapes. The stories are perfect for sharing with younger readers or reading alone when children are able. The stories have short simple sentences on each page, allowing the illustrations to play an important part in the storytelling and therefore supporting independent and supported reading as well as children’s imaginations.

The stories can be bought as individual books or in sets, as a series, and are supplied in paperback as well as board books for younger children.
